As a powerful streaming app Elmedia Player allows you to air local files from Mac computer to Apple TV, Smart TV or other compliant devices over Chromecast, AirPlay and DLNA. You can also use the player as an AirPlay receiver by streaming media from iTunes, another Mac, or different AirPlay-friendly devices to Elmedia. Click the AirPlay icon in the menu bar on your Mac, then choose the option to connect to your iPad. Or use Sidecar preferences to connect. If you don't see the AirPlay icon, choose Apple menu System Preferences, click Displays, then make sure that ”Show mirroring options in the menu bar when available” is selected. Leading TV manufacturers are integrating AirPlay 2 directly into their TVs, so now you can effortlessly share or mirror almost anything from your iOS device or Mac directly to your AirPlay 2–enabled smart TV. You can even play music on the TV and sync it with other AirPlay 2–compatible speakers anywhere in your home.

VLC media player requires Mac OS X 10.7.5 or later. It runs on any 64bit Intel-based Mac. Previous devices are supported by older releases.
Note that the first generation of Intel-based Macs equipped with Core Solo or Core Duo processors is no longer supported. Please use version 2.0.10 linked below.
Web browser plugin for Mac OS X
Support for NPAPI plugins was removed from all modern web browsers, so VLC's plugin is no longer maintained. The last version is 3.0.4 and can be found here. It will not receive any further updates.
